A great deal on a good wine under $10, that is almost a holy grail in the wine world for consumers who watch what they pay for their everyday juice. If you don’t worry about cost and are fortunate enough to drink whatever you feel like whenever you want, then this review is probably not for you. If you aren’t in that category please read on.
Bogle Vineyards, located in Clarksburg, California, makes a range of different varietals. They are a family run winery which has been in the business for 50 years. We have had many of their wines, and the word value is one we would always attach to their bottles. The wine we review today is no exception. Here it is:
Wine: Bogle Vineyards 2019 Cabernet Sauvignon
Winery Location: Clarksburg, California
Tasted By: Neil & Cheri Date: August 2022
Tasting Notes: This wine is a medium dark ruby red, with a huge nose sporting red and black fruit, herbal notes, vanilla, tobacco, and some smoky oak. Plum and cherry, along with raspberry come through. It’s just full bodied out of the bottle, with a rich palate throughout and nice length. With some time in the glass the smoke develops a bit more, but is not overdone and quite nice. It gets a little jammy in a good way. This is a lot of wine for under $10.
Price Point – likely under $10 at your favorite retail shop, $11 directly from the winery.
Would We Buy It? – oh yes, as this is a steal at the price and a great choice for an everyday Cabernet Sauvignon.
Here’s one of those great occurrences, when you find a bottle of wine for less than $10 that exceeds all expectations and really delivers. If you like bold Cabernet Sauvignon this is for you. If you like high quality to price ratios then this is for you. I wouldn’t quite say it is truly mind boggling, but it is darn good. Still available, I would grab the 2019 while you have a chance.
A votre santé!
