The 2018 vintage in Bordeaux really is living up to the hype as the wines start to get some bottle age. They’re still babies to be sure, but you can see what they have and what they promise to have in the future. It’s pretty exciting. Here’s another excellent one.
Wine: 2018 Chateau Soutard-Cadet
Winery Location: St. Emilion, Bordeaux
Tasted By: Neil & Cheri Date: June 2022
Tasting Notes: This is a dark purple red in color. The nose is black currant, graphite, tobacco with some herbal notes. It smells decadent. On the palate it is a rich, mouth coating wine. Deep fruit flavors highlight dark berry. Medium+ tannins provide backbone. Some caramel and a hint of mint join the party. It has a super long finish. This is a delicious wine right now, and it should age effortlessly for quite some time.
Price Point – $40
Would We Buy It? – yes, we did. We would buy more. This is excellent Bordeaux at a very attractive price
