We recently reviewed the California Merlot from Bogle Vineyards (you can read about that here). They’re headquartered in Clarksburg, CA, and make a range of wines. They are the type if producer that you can always rely on to deliver great value at whatever price point you’re looking for. The Merlot was indeed a great value. Here we review the Cabernet Sauvignon to see if it rates as high.
Wine: 2020 Bogle California Cabernet Sauvignon
Winery Location: Clarksburg, CA
Tasted By: Neil & Cheri Date: July 2023
Tasting Notes: A dark red/purple wine, the nose is full of currant and blackberry, with notes of mint, vanilla, herbs and a ltitle savory thing going on. It is rich and full bodied with medium tannins. Good balance and length finish up a quality wine at a pretty crazy price. This has great fruit, complexity, depth and balance.
Price Point – $10-$12
Would We Buy It? – By the case. If we owned a restaurant then by the container. This is an incredible value given the amount of complexity and fruit in a $10 bottle. It might lack just a little finesse, but is that worth 3-4 times the price? That’s for you to decide.
Bogle continues to deliver extreme value. We highly recommend this wine.
