Here’s another excellent value from a great Bordeaux vintage, which seem to happen more and more frequently as the years go by and global warming effects grow. Whatever the reason, this is a wine to enjoy at a great price.
Wine: Chateau Puygueraud
Winery Location: Francs – Côtes de Bordeaux, Right Bank
Tasted By: Neil & Cheri Date: January, 2023
Tasting Notes: This is dark purple red, with just a hint of funk on the nose. Deep blackberry and currant flavors dominate the palate, along with some herbal notes. There’s a touch of menthol as well. This is quite tannic and obviously still a baby. It is full bodied and very, very long. Enjoyable now and will last a decade.
Price Point – $20-$25, we found it for just under $20
Would We Buy It? – We did, and will again.
This is yet another example of stellar values from Bordeaux in great vintages. It is something we set our wine compass by, and always take advantage of. We suggest you try that philosophy as well, along with this wine in particular.
A votre santé!
