You don’t find too many quality wines for $10, especially on the red side of the aisle. Yet here is one that does deliver for that price point. It’s not Chateau Latour, but it is fairly complex, smooth and overall an enjoyable wine drinking experience. Let’s take a look.
Wine: 2018 Chateau Souverain Cabernet Sauvignon California
Winery Location: Sonoma, CA. Grapes from North Coast.
Tasted By: Neil & Cheri Date: November 2021
Tasting Notes: the wine is dark ruby in color, with a nose of black cherry, ripe berries, some savory notes, a touch of green pepper and lots of vanilla. This is full bodied and smooth, with good length.
Price Point – about $10
Would We Buy It? – yes, we would and we have. For an everyday, reasonably priced bottle of red this fits the bill.
A good $10 bottle of red is elusive. This one should be easy to find.
A votre santé!
