Côtes du Rhône is a great choice for a tasty, spicy red wine with some body and character, as well as one which will not break the bank. It’s a great value category in general, and you’re not going to be frequently disappointed. Still, it’s always worth pointing out when a good one comes along. Here is a good one.
Wine: 2017 Saint Cosme Côtes du Rhône
Winery Location: Southern Rhone Valley
Tasted By: Neil & Cheri Date: June 2019
Tasting Notes: The wine is a dark purple/red in color, and presents dark fruits on the nose. You get plum jam, and savory notes, as well as herbs. On the palate the juice is full bodied, with firm tannins and a long, spicy finish. This will go great with your next barbecue, roast beef, pulled pork or even a pizza. A very enjoyable Côtes du Rhône.
