We’ve been ranting about Casey Flat Ranch wines for over a year now. Their 2010 Estate Red is one of our favorite wines anywhere, period. Their 2012 CFR Sauvignon Blanc got us drinking white wine again, and now it’s spreading (go figure!). We love just about everything they make, and think they’re all great values. Laura Barrett, winemaker, is doing great things.
In the past issue of the Wine Spectator, James Laube points out the 2010 Casey Flat Ranch Estate Red as one of his Top Values in California Cabernet. We think it’s about time. At least he got the value part right, but the 89 points he gave the wine are at least 3-4 points too low, especially compared to other wines on the list. Still – it’s a step in the right direction. And we just happen to have a 3 liter bottle of it in our cellar. Wonder when we might be opening that.
Remember, we told you about this wine over a year ago. Just saying…..
A votre sante!
