We’ve been pulling a bottle from our 2019 Brunello stock every now and then to see how things are going. We’re happy to report they are going well, and below is a great example of a quality wine from this excellent vintage.
Wine: 2019 Caprili Brunello di Montalcino
Winery Location: Montalcino, Italy
Tasted By: Neil & Cheri Date: December 2024
Tasting Notes: The wine is a dark red in color, with a black cherry nose. There is tobacco and some bramble as well. It is full bodied. Tannins are brisk now, and this will improve with time. What is clear is that the core of fruit is here, focused and really nice. It has excellent length now, and really drinks well with some air time. I would decant for an hour, or maybe leave it for another few years as it starts to hit its stride.
Price Point – ~$50
Would We Buy It? – Yes we would. This is a quality wine from a vintage in Montalcino which is considered one of the best ever.
You can’t go wrong with Brunello from the 2019 vintage, especially around this price.
