Here is a delicious Rioja Reserva for very little money. Rioja consistently delivers great value wines, and this is one of them.
Wine: 2015 Lopez de Haro Rioja Reserva
Winery Location: Rioja, Spain
Tasted By: Neil & Cheri Date: January, 2021
Tasting Notes: This is a classic Rioja blend of 85% Tempranillo and 15% Graciano, aged for 20 months in French and American oak. It has the aroma and taste profile you would expect in an old school Rioja as well, with a nose of soft cherry fruit accented by tobacco and leather. It is medium+ bodied, very smooth and long. The fruit is joined by some hints of orange on the palate, along with herbs and a touch of spice. Very nice wine all around.
Price Point – $15
Would We Buy It? – we would and we did. This is an excellent value and just a really pleasing bottle of wine. An addition to our Value List.
It’s tough to go wrong in Rioja.
