Outstanding 2021 Laurel Glen Cabernet Sauvignon

After the fires of 2020, the 2021 vintage in Napa and Sonoma is highly touted, and we’re seeing why as some of the 2021’s satrt to come out of the wineries.  Yields were very low unfortunately, but quality is very high.  We just received our Spring shipment from Laurel Glen Vineyard, in Glen Ellen, Calfornia, and it is pretty stunning.  More are on the way, and we can’t wait.  Here it is:

Wine:   2021 Laurel Glen Cabernet Sauvignon

Winery Location: Glen Ellen, Sonoma Valley

Tasted By: Neil & Cheri (and friends!)              Date: March 2025

Tasting Notes:  Dark purple red in color, this wine has a rich nose of ripe blackberry and cherry.  Aromas of tobacco and menthol join in.  It is full bodied on the palate, with a wonderful core of fruit that carries through to the long finish.  Still a baby, it is truly delicious now.  We can’t wait to see what a few years in the cellar brings out.  This is a stunning Sonoma Cab.

Price Point –$120 from the winery, but just under $100 with club membership.  That’s actually the only way you can get it right now.  We did mention yields were low in 2021.

Would We Buy It? We did, at just under $100 per bottle.

We don’t really ever spend this much on a bottle of wine, but we do hold club memberships from two of our favorite wineries, this one as well as another in Napa Valley, and we’ll keep those going.  This wine is wonderful, and our shipment from the Napa winery is coming next week.  Life is good, but we’ll still be looking for bargains and great value the rest of the time.

A votre santé!
